Baking classes at L'Atelier Vaniyé

Our dessert and baking courses are crafted for anyone with a love of pastry, from beginners to experienced bakers. You will gain a thorough understanding of ingredients and techniques, empowering you to create exquisite results with confidence. This hands-on experience encourages exploration, experimentation, and the opportunity to craft your own signature recipes. With a maximum of 10 participants per class, we provide an intimate, interactive, and highly enjoyable learning environment.

Crafting the Art of Patisserie

Trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, Chef Sonia brings over two decades of experience in the art of French pastry. Her journey spans from boutique patisseries and grand events to Michelin-starred restaurants and a Palace Hotel in France, where she worked as a show kitchen pastry chef. Guided by both artistry and precision, Sonia shares not only the techniques but also the science and philosophy behind each creation, revealing the deeper “why” of French patisserie. As a global Les Vergers Boiron Ambassador Chef, she is celebrated for her refined craftsmanship and visionary approach. Today, Sonia stands among the pioneers of high-end French patisserie in New Zealand, with her work earning recognition both locally and abroad.

Baking class duration

Each session runs for 3 to 3.5 hours. Please note that classes require a minimum of 5 participants to proceed. If a class is cancelled due to low enrolment, we will notify you at least 2 days in advance and offer a full refund or the option to transfer to another session.

The Venue

Courses take place at L’Atelier Vaniye, our dedicated kitchen and headquarters, located at 1/42 Selwyn Street, Onehunga, Auckland.

Do I need to have previous experience?

Experience is not necessary as long as you are interested to learn! The courses are designed for everyone with the aim to improve understanding of ingredients and the science behind the creations.

What is the minimum age to attend a class?

As the class is a practical hands on with some theory, our classes are best suited for 13 years and above.

Cancellations and no-shows

Due to time and costs of preparations prior to a class, cancellations received within 4 days of the class date can only be refunded if the place can be filled from the waiting list. If you have no choice but to cancel last minute, please try to get your family or friends to take over your place.

Privatised baking classes & team building

Our classes are perfect for team-building events, the best girl get together afternoon, or a unique entertainment opportunity with your clients. We organise privatise sessions for up to 10 people. Feel free to contact us for more information at masterclass@vaniye.com
